THE SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE MONITORING

The system is designed for vehicle monitoring when there is coverage with either ISM or GSM signal. Under this conditions own ISM base station is established and it becomes primary communication mode. When vehicles enter GSM coverage zone (and there is no own ISM network) the communication based on GSM network is used. The secondary system is a spare one, and is used when there is no signal coverage with the primary system.
The basic idea is to use the same hardware: in vehicles (RM), at base station (BS), and for the interconnection of the base stations (point–to–point). Only the place of use dictates which software will be implemented into radio module.
BS consists of RM, spooler – SP and software that provides position control of each element of the system (vehicle) as well as displaying current position of the chosen vehicles on the digital map of the terrain. The role of the SP is to enable connection into network, if more than one BS is used, communication among them and data exchange. Coverage zone for one BS is around 50 km in radius. It is recommended to use omni antenna TA 952, instead ANT3.
For the interconnection between BS, two RM are used with directional YAGI antennas Y925/10. This configuration can give a possible range of 100 km, if a condition for LOS is fulfilled.
